Porchlight Music Theatre seeks motivated individuals to join our dynamic growing team as the company moves to the Ruth Page Center for the Arts and will now manage its own box office. We are specifically looking for a Front of House team that will be trained in the areas of house management, box office and concessions. These part-time hourly, seasonal positions start in mid-September and end in June, working daytime weekday hours in the office, with evening and weekend availability required during productions. This position reports to the Audience & Events Director.


Responsibilities:

House Manager

  • Provide the highest level of customer service to people of all ages and abilities
  • Train, supervise, and assist volunteer ushers – from the Saints Program
  • Set up ticket scanner technology, signage, house materials
  • Work collaboratively with stage manager and box office manager to coordinate front and back of house
    operations
  • Oversee accessible seating
  • Complete post-program reporting and evaluation
  • Other duties as assigned

 Box Office

  • Processing ticket orders by taking calls, processing cash and credit card transactions
  • Carefully maintaining all customer records in PMT’s ticketing software, Patron Manager
  • Providing excellent customer service over the phone and in person
  • Fulfilling requests for accessible accommodations
  • Expanding our subscription program by informing our audience about its benefits
  • Keeping stock of supplies and notifying the Audience & Events Director if an order should be placed

Concessions

  • Set up and tear down of concessions pre & post performance
  • Cash reconciliation at the end of the evening
  • Keeping stock of supplies and notifying the Audience & Events Director if an order should be placed

Candidate Qualifications:

  • Previous customer service experience, computer proficiency, and general office skills are required
  • Ticketing and/or Patron Manager experience is a plus
  • Punctuality & professionalism
  • Be able to consistently work 15-20 hours a week
  • Have availability for evenings and weekends
  • Have a positive, respectful, and patient approach
  • Experience delivering and receiving feedback
  • Excellent phone skills with a friendly and supportive personality (both on the phone and off)
  • Endless optimism and a love for the arts, especially musicals
  • Strong sense of ethics, and doing what’s right for the patron
